Siegelbaum Literary & Visual Arts Competition
The Holocaust Museum & Study Center is proud to announce the Siegelbaum Literary and Visual Arts Competition for the school year 2013/14. Our theme for this year is See No Evil. Students are encouraged to be creative and may also contact the Museum for ideas and research materials.
NEW FOR THIS YEAR!
1. First prize winners in each category will receive a Kindle Fire HD 7" Tablet
2. The submitting teacher of each first prize winning student will receive $150.00 to spend for their classroom
As in past years, entries in the Siegelbaum Literary and Visual Arts Competition will be judged in two separate divisions: one for Middle School/Junior High School students (grades six through eight), and the other for students in High School (grades nine through twelve). All entries must be original works and fall into the categories of prose, poetry or visual arts. Work will be judged by a prominent group of teachers and professionals.
All works must be received at the Museum no later than Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 4:00 P.M., and must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Winners will be notified in late April/early May and all art entries will be displayed. This year, the Museum will award American Express gift cards as prizes to the second, and third place winners in each division. The names of all participating schools and teachers will be listed in the exhibit material, and all student participants in the contest will receive a complimentary one year membership to the Holocaust Museum & Study Center. Contest participants and winners winners will be recognized at a reception to be held on Monday, May 19, 2014.
