Volunteer Opportunities

  • Become a Museum Docent

Volunteer educators work with student and adult groups in the Museum to enhance their Museum experience.

  • Volunteer as a Survivor Speaker

Holocaust survivors in Rockland County have long volunteered to share their personal stories with members of the community. These important and inspiring stories are shared with schools, youth and community organizations, faith congregations, and business, civic and governmental groups.

  • Teen Mitzvah Program

Brit of Remembrance - As Jewish teens become Bar/Bat Mitzvah, they can connect with the memory of an individual lost in the Holocaust. You will research the individual by talking to surviving relatives or researching via the Holocaust Museum to learn not only about their tragic experience during the war, but about whom they were before. This ensures that their legacies live on and memories are never forgotten. We can learn about their individual stories of strength, grace, courage and survival. We hope you will share this information at your Bar/Bat Mitzvah service.

In the name of the victim you have researched, we hope that you will do mitzvot as you remember and honor them each year : mentioning them in your bar mitzvah speech, saying Kaddish for them and lighting a yahrzeit (memorial) candle.
