Weinberger Competition - Resilience Through the Lens of the Holocaust
FAQs
Who are the Weinbergers?
We are grateful to the generosity of the Weinberger families, whose continued support of this powerful program is dedicated in memory of their parents, Sam and Barbara Weinberger.
What is this year’s theme?
The theme for this year’s school competition is Resilience Through the Lens of the Holocaust. Using the art form of your choice tell us what resilience means to you. Who, in history, or in your own life, has demonstrated resilience? What did they do? How did their actions affect the lives of others? What can we learn from this? How do you feel about it?
What kind of entry can I submit?
The competition has three separate categories - Literary Arts (prose, poetry or essay), Multimedia and Visual Arts. See contest guidelines below for additional details.
Each of the three categories will be judged in two separate divisions: One for students in grades 6-8 and the other for students in grades 9-12.
What can I win?
Each category and division will award gift cards to First, Second and Third place winners. The submitting teacher of each first prize winning student will also receive an $100 gift card to spend for their classroom (one per teacher). The work will be judged by a prominent group of educators.
When do I have to submit my entry?
The deadline for submissions is March 27, 2025. Winner will be announced on May 22, 2025 and will be recognized at an Awards Ceremony on June 4, 2025.
